Definition
脏器 refers to the internal organs of the body, commonly called 'viscera' in English. In traditional Chinese medicine (中医), it specifically denotes the ‘zang’ (depot) organs — the solid yin organs (heart, liver, spleen, lungs, kidneys) — which store vital substances. The term is more formal than the everyday word 内脏 (nèizàng).
