Definition
胁 is a bound form (b.f.) that only appears in compound words. It has two main meanings: (1) the flank or side of the body, as in 胁部 (flank) or 两胁 (both sides); (2) to coerce or threaten, as in 威胁 (threaten) or 胁迫 (coerce). You won't use 胁 by itself in modern Chinese.
