Definition
考核 (kǎo hé) means 'to evaluate, assess' in a formal, systematic way, such as performance reviews or qualification checks. It is more specialized than 评价 (píng jià) 'to evaluate, comment on' and often implies meeting criteria or standards. Compared to 评估 (píng gū) 'to assess, appraise,' 考核 is more common for personnel or academic evaluation.
