Definition
老城区 refers to the old or historical part of a city, often with narrow streets, older architecture, and cultural heritage. It's the opposite of 新区 (new district). You'll hear it when talking about sightseeing, urban planning, or local history — many Chinese cities have a well-known 老城区 that's popular with tourists.
