Definition
群落 refers to a community in a specialized sense — either an ecological community (a group of interacting organisms in a habitat) or a social community (a cluster of settlements or a group of people sharing a common trait). It is more technical than 社区 (shèqū, 'community' in everyday social terms). You'll encounter it in biology, geography, and sociology contexts.
