Definition
罢工 (bà gōng) means to go on strike — a collective work stoppage by workers to protest or demand changes. It is different from 怠工 (dài gōng), which is a deliberate work slowdown or slacking off rather than a full walkout. As a separable verb (离合词), 罢工 can be split, e.g., 罢了两次工.
