缺勤 is a verb-object separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to be absent from work, school, or duty'. When you need to add aspect markers (了, 过) or measure words (次, 天), you split the two characters and insert them between 缺 and 勤, e.g., 缺过一次勤 ('have been absent once') or 缺了三天勤 ('was absent for three days'). Use it to report or discuss attendance.
