Definition
结疤 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to form a scab' or 'to become scarred' on a wound. The verb 结 and the object 疤 can split apart — for example, you can insert a measure word and adjective: 结了一个很大的疤 ('formed a very big scab'), a duration: 结了三天才掉 ('only fell off after three days'), or a resultative complement: 结上了疤 ('has scabbed over'). When using this word, the wound is the subject; you do not need an explicit object.
