Definition
终究 (zhōngjiū) means 'in the end, ultimately', carrying a nuance of inevitability — something is bound to happen or be true after all is said and done. It is more formal and literary than 终于 (zhōngyú, 'finally, at last'), which focuses on the end of a long wait. Unlike 毕竟 (bìjìng, 'after all'), 终究 usually does not introduce a reason or justification.
