Definition
红扑扑 (hóng pū pū) describes a healthy, rosy glow on the cheeks, often from exercise, cold, or shyness. It is more vivid and specific to cheeks than 通红 (tōng hóng 'bright red all over'), which is stronger and can apply to anything, and 红润 (hóng rùn 'ruddy'), which describes a general healthy complexion rather than a flushed look.
