穿透 is a resultative compound verb meaning 'to penetrate' or 'to pierce through'. The first character 穿 (to pass through) combines with the resultative complement 透 (to go through, to be transparent). You can insert 得 or 不 between the two syllables to express possibility: 穿得透 (can penetrate) or 穿不透 (cannot penetrate). It also accepts aspect markers like 了 and 过 after the first syllable.
