Definition
碌碌无为 is a four-character idiom (成语) describing a person who is mediocre, incompetent, or achieves nothing significant in life. It often carries a tone of disappointment or self-criticism. Literally, 碌碌 means 'busy but fruitless' and 无为 means 'doing nothing', so together it suggests a life of busywork without real accomplishment.
