Definition
石田 (dàn tián) is a Classical Chinese term for land that is too rocky or barren to be cultivated. It is rarely used in modern everyday speech; common modern equivalents include 荒地 (huāngdì) or 贫瘠的土地 (pínjí de tǔdì). In classical texts it can also appear metaphorically to mean 'something useless'.
