Definition
睐 is a literary bound form (b.f.) meaning 'to glance sidelong' or 'to look askance at'. It appears in compounds such as 冷睐 (lěng lài, 'cold sidelong glance') and 斜睐 (xié lài, 'to look askance'). Note that the common compound 青睐 (qīnglài) has a different meaning — 'to look with favor'.
