Definition
睁 (zhēng) specifically means 'to open one's eyes' — the action of raising the eyelids. Unlike 瞪 (dèng), which means to stare/glare with wide eyes, and 眯 (mī), which means to narrow/squint, 睁 is neutral and just refers to the opening motion. It is not used for opening doors or windows (use 开 or 敞开).
