Definition
著作 is a formal noun referring to written works, especially scholarly, literary, or professional publications. It's more formal than 书 (book) or 文章 (article), and often implies a work of some substance or academic significance. As a noun, it does not mean 'to write' (that would be the verb 著/zhù alone). Use it for titles of publications or when discussing an author's body of work.
