Definition
看病 (kàn bìng) is a verb meaning 'to see a doctor' (as a patient) or 'to treat a patient' (as a doctor). It is more specific than 看 (kàn) alone, which can mean 'to see' in many ways; when talking about visiting a doctor, use 看病 or 看医生. 生病 (shēng bìng) means 'to fall ill' – the reason you might need to 看病.
