Definition
省略号 is the Chinese ellipsis punctuation mark, written as six dots (……) occupying the space of two Chinese characters. It is used to indicate omitted text, a pause, or a trailing-off thought. Despite the source gloss, it does not mean "apostrophe" in modern Chinese — that is 撇号. The "musical abbreviation" sense is obsolete or extremely rare.
