Definition
直径 (zhíjìng) is the standard word for 'diameter' in geometry and everyday measurement — the straight line through the center of a circle. 口径 (kǒujìng) is more specific: it refers to the diameter of a circular opening (like a pipe, gun barrel, or lens), and also has a figurative meaning of 'stance' or 'official line' that 直径 does not share.
