Definition
的确 (dí què) means 'indeed, really' and is used to confirm or emphasize the truth of a statement. It is very close to 确实 (què shí), but 的确 often carries a tone of agreement or affirmation in conversation. Unlike 其实 (qí shí, 'actually'), which introduces a contrasting fact, 的确 simply confirms what is said; and unlike 果然 (guǒ rán, 'as expected'), it does not imply prior expectation.
