Definition
疤 (bā) refers to a scar – a permanent mark left after a wound heals – or a scab, the temporary crust on a healing wound. It is more concrete and physical than 伤痕 (shāng hén), which also means 'scar' but extends to emotional trauma (e.g., psychological scars). 疤 is used for visible marks on skin or surfaces.
