Definition
界限 (jièxiàn) refers to a boundary, dividing line, or limit — both concrete (e.g. geographical) and abstract (e.g. moral, time). Compared with 边界 (biānjiè), which leans toward physical/political borders, 界限 is broader and covers personal or conceptual limits. It also differs from 界线 (jièxiàn), which more commonly denotes a literal drawn line; 界限 emphasizes the boundary as a range or limit.
