Definition
畅谈 (chàng tán) stresses talking freely, at length, and without inhibition — often in a relaxed setting about broad or deep topics. It is less goal-oriented than 讨论 (purposeful discussion) and more informal compared to 座谈 (a formal roundtable). Unlike 交谈 (mutual conversation), 畅谈 can be one-sided or collective free expression.
