甸 (diàn) is an ancient Chinese measure word for land area, originating from the well-field system (井田制). One 甸 equals 64 well-fields (井), roughly 640 mu (亩). You'll mostly encounter this term in historical texts or classical references; it's not used in modern everyday Chinese.
