Definition
甫 (fǔ) is a literary adverb meaning 'just (now)' or 'only'. It appears in formal, written Chinese — especially in historical narratives, classical texts, or journalistic registers — and is not used in everyday conversation. You'll often see it before verbs to indicate an action that has just occurred (甫一 'as soon as') or to limit a statement ('only, barely').
