Definition
生物界 refers to the living world or biological realm — the collective category of all living organisms, including their classification and relationships. It differs from 生物圈 (shēng wù quān), which specifically describes the biosphere as a global ecological system. 生物界 is used in biology to discuss what is alive versus non-living, or to refer to the system of biological kingdoms.
