Definition
生怕 (shēng pà) means 'to be extremely afraid that something bad might happen' and is used before a clause describing the feared outcome. It's stronger and more anxious than 怕 (pà) or 恐怕 (kǒng pà), and unlike 以免 (yǐ miǎn) and 免得 (miǎn de), it focuses on the fear itself, not just the prevention of a result.
