Definition
瑟缩 describes a physical or metaphorical shrinking—from cold, fear, or discomfort. You can use it for a person trembling in the cold or cowering in fear, but also for the rustling sound of leaves or fabric in the air. It's a literary verb often found in descriptive or narrative Chinese.
