理念 (lǐniàn) refers to a guiding concept, philosophy, or principle that shapes an organization, design, or system — it's a core belief that drives action. It differs from 概念 (gàiniàn), which is a neutral abstract idea or definition, and from 观念 (guānniàn), which is a personal or social viewpoint or attitude. 理念 is more systematic and value-driven than either.
