物品 (wù pǐn) is the most general, neutral word for 'item, article, thing' — it can refer to any physical object. Unlike 商品 (shāng pǐn, goods for sale) or 产品 (chǎn pǐn, manufactured products), 物品 has no commercial or production focus. Broader than 用品 (yòng pǐn, daily-use items) and 物资 (wù zī, supplies/materials).
