Definition
爱斯基摩 is a loanword from English 'Eskimo', referring to the indigenous peoples of the Arctic (often called Inuit in modern English). In Chinese it is used attributively, typically before nouns like 人 (people), 犬 (dog), 文化 (culture), etc. Note that the term may be considered outdated or offensive in some contexts; the preferred modern Chinese term is 因纽特 (Yīnniǔtè) for Inuit.
