Definition
烈性 (liè xìng) is an attribute word that always comes before a noun, describing that noun's strong, intense, or potent quality. Common collocations include 烈性酒 (strong liquor), 烈性炸药 (high explosive), and 烈性马 (spirited horse). Unlike a regular adjective, it cannot be used as a predicate — do not say 这个酒很烈性, but rather 这个酒很烈.
