Definition
烂熟 describes a state of being fully done or mastered. It has three distinct uses: (1) food cooked until very soft and tender, (2) a person sleeping very deeply and soundly, and (3) knowledge or skill that has been practiced so much it becomes second nature — 'to have something down cold'. The context (food, sleep, or study) tells you which sense is meant.
