Definition
This chengyu describes someone's eyes as bright, sparkling, and full of vitality — typically used to convey alertness, intelligence, or strong spirit. It is almost exclusively applied to the eyes (眼睛) and cannot describe other features. The structure is 炯炯 (bright, shining) + 有神 (having spirit).
