Definition
火眼金睛 comes from the classic novel Journey to the West, where the Monkey King Sun Wukong acquires 'fiery eyes and golden pupils' after being refined in a furnace — eyes that can see through any disguise or deception. As a chengyu, it is used metaphorically to describe someone with incredibly sharp, discerning judgment, especially the ability to detect lies, fraud, or hidden truths that others miss.
