Definition
激荡 describes a powerful, turbulent surge — of water, emotions, or historical currents — often with a sense of violent or intense movement. Unlike 荡漾 (gentle ripples) or 沸腾 (boiling excitement), 激荡 emphasizes chaotic, surging force. It's more abstract and literary than 冲 or 闯, which are concrete physical actions.
