Definition
潮湿 (cháo shī) describes air, weather, or a place that feels damp and humid, often uncomfortably so. It's stronger and more specific than 湿 (shī 'wet'), which can mean simply wet from water, and more common than 潮 (cháo 'damp'), which also means 'tide'. 湿润 (shī rùn) is a milder, more neutral 'moist'.
