Definition
漫画 (màn huà) means static comics, manga, or caricatures — printed, still images. It contrasts with 动画 (dòng huà 'animation'), which is moving/ animated, and with 动漫 (dòng màn), the overarching term for both anime and manga. 卡通 (kǎ tōng) is a general loanword that can refer to either static comics or animated cartoons.
