Definition
漂移 means 'to drift' — being carried along by a current, wind, or other continuous force. It differs from 漂浮 (to float on the surface) because drift implies movement and direction. In technical fields, 漂移 refers to a slow change or shift in parameters, such as the drift of an electronic signal or the drift angle of a vehicle. For car enthusiasts, 漂移 also describes the driving technique of intentional skidding (drifting).
