Definition
湿润 (shī rùn) describes a pleasant, moderate moisture in air, soil, or eyes — "moist, humid" but not soaking wet. It differs from 湿 (shī), which simply means "wet" and can imply being drenched, and from 潮湿 (cháo shī), which often carries a negative sense of uncomfortable dampness. The 润 component adds a nuance of smoothness or gentle moisture.
