Definition
添乱 is a colloquial separable verb (离合词) meaning to add trouble or burden to an already difficult situation. It always involves a person affected, introduced by the preposition 给 (gěi). The verb can be split when a measure word, quantity, or interrogative is inserted: e.g., 添什么乱 ('cause whatever trouble'), 添了不少乱 ('caused quite a bit of trouble'). It is similar to 添麻烦 but less formal and more direct.
