Definition
涉 is a bound morpheme (b.f.) that appears in two-character verbs and nouns. It carries three related senses: physical wading or fording (涉水 'wade across water', 跋涉 'trek long distances'), going through or experiencing (涉世 'experience life', 涉猎 'dabble in reading'), and involving or implicating (涉及 'to involve', 干涉 'to interfere', 涉嫌 'be suspected of'). Because it is a bound form, you will never see 涉 used alone as a standalone verb; it always attaches to a second character to form a complete word.
