Definition
浸水 is a separable verb (离合词) that means either 'to immerse/dip something in water' (intentional action) or 'to be inundated/flooded' (unintentional condition). When separated, the verb 浸 and the object 水 can take a noun or a measure word in between, e.g., 浸两次水 ('dip in water twice'). Do not place a direct object after the whole word; instead, use 把 (disposal) or a separated form.
