Definition
浇 (jiāo) means 'to water (plants)' or 'to pour a liquid over something' — you can 浇 water onto plants or 浇 sauce onto food. It differs from 灌 (guàn, HSK7), which means 'to pour liquid into' a container or opening, and from 灌溉 (guàn gài, HSK7), which is formal, large-scale irrigation. In industrial contexts, 浇 also means 'to cast' molten metal.
