Definition
泯 (mǐn) is a bound form (b.f.) found almost exclusively in formal or literary compound words, not used alone. It carries the meaning of 'to vanish, to perish, to disappear' and appears in verbs like 泯灭 (mǐnmiè, 'to die out, to obliterate') and 泯没 (mǐnmò, 'to vanish, to sink into oblivion'), as well as fixed phrases like 良心泯灭 ('one's conscience is destroyed').
