Definition
泥水 can refer either to literal muddy water (泥 + 水) or, as a shortened form of 泥水匠, to masonry or plastering work — this second sense is a specialized trade term not obvious from the characters alone. In Taiwan and some regional contexts, 泥水 alone can mean 'masonry (craft)' without the craftsman suffix.
