Definition
法术 has two distinct senses. In modern usage it refers to magic, sorcery, or supernatural powers (wizards, Daoist priests, fantasy games). Historically, 法术 was a key term in Legalist philosophy (法家), meaning the methods and techniques of governing through law and power. Most contemporary examples use the magic sense.
