Definition
江山 (jiāng shān) literally means 'rivers and mountains' but is used poetically to refer to a country's territory or domain, especially with a sense of heritage or sovereignty. Unlike 领土 (lǐng tǔ), which is a formal, legal term for 'territory', 江山 is literary and emotionally charged, often appearing in historical or patriotic contexts. It is not a synonym for 风景 (fēng jǐng) or 景色 (jǐng sè), which describe scenic views, not political territory.
