比重 (bǐzhòng) refers to the proportion or percentage that a part occupies within a whole, emphasizing its weight or share. Unlike 比例 (bǐlì) which is a ratio between two quantities or a scale (e.g., a map scale), and 占比 (zhànbǐ) which is the specific percentage an element accounts for in a dataset, 比重 describes the overall composition or share within a whole.
