Definition
比如 is the everyday, all-purpose way to introduce examples in spoken and written Chinese, meaning 'for example' or 'such as'. It is more common than 例如 (lì rú), which sounds more formal and is preferred in official writing. Unlike 像 (xiàng), which can also mean 'to resemble', 比如 is used only to list examples.
